Profile of Ms. Josephine Cudjoe - Head Teacher
Ms. Josephine Cudjoe, the Headteacher for Merton Primary School has over 30 years of teaching experience.
Ms. Cudjoe has taught at the Base Workshop Primary School, Burma Camp; Morning Star School, Accra (her alma matter), Merton Montessori Nursery and Kindergarten School, Accra and presently Merton International School., where she has been for over 20 years.
Ms. Cudjoe had her secondary education at Tema Secondary School in Tema and her teacher training at the Presbyterian Women’s Training College at Aburi. At Merton, she was the Sectional Head for Key Stage 1 from 2010 to 2015 and was also the Class teacher for Year 1 Tulip for over 18 years. In September 2015, Ms. Cudjoe became Headteacher for Merton Primary School.
Teaching different year groups in all these schools, she has also had specialist roles, leadership roles and offered professional learning activities – helping teachers prepare themselves to encourage a love for learning in the children they teach. She sees teaching as involving a reciprocal relationship between teachers and parents and of course the children.
The vision to establish Merton International Primary and High School was a singular one. It was to produce a top breed of citizens capable of responding to the complexity of our millennium through the impact they would make in their local communities. The mission, matchless in its import, was careful to make the school a theocentric one while ensuring the human effort that crafted a robust curriculum to produce an end game of skills and knowledge, sensitivity towards humanity and making sincere, the much touted stewardship to the environment. Established in 1998, Merton International Primary and High School profiles a student body who are buoyant in their physical activity keen in their cognitive reception practical in their application and pliant to the values that underscore the finest qualities of the World Citizen.
